Description

Chickens make you quick, goats make you clever and donkeys make you patient. And in this seminar, you will learn how working with alternative species can help you understand how each animal learns in its own way. We will teach the difference behind operant conditioning and shaping, and how these techniques can be translated to practical dog training. Working sessions taught in this seminar will benefit all levels of animal trainers, from those who work with family pets to shelter animals, livestock to working dogs. Anyone who handles animals will benefit from learning how to shape behavior more proficiently. Utilizing shaping and operant techniques, attendees will learn to teach an animal to continue working even if they are exhibiting frustration or are unsure about how to proceed, and how to make handling low or stress free for any species. This workshop will be a combination of instructional presentations with hands on learning utilizing those participants signed up for working spots.
