Description
This workshop will cover the fundamentals of TAGteach, a marker-based positive reinforcement method for teaching humans. It will begin with an overview of some of the challenges faced when teaching humans, including the problems inherent in assuming learners can process and follow complex instructions. Next, the presenter will explain the basics of TAGteach, including the Focus Funnel and each of its component parts (Lecture, Instructions, Tag Point). That will be followed by an in-depth discussion of how to create appropriate Tag Points, including an explanation of the WOOF acronym. A sample task will provide a concrete example of the Focus Funnel and Tag Points. Then the attendees will be asked to apply TAGteach principles to a simple teaching exercise. Audience questions will also be addressed.
