Description
We anticipate over 100 attendees from Central KY for this first daylong conference, including professional service providers, staff and volunteers of area shelters, rescue organizations, and veterinary practices; unaffiliated volunteers who provide TNR and caretaking services for feral cat colonies, foster care, transportation, and other animal rescue work; and individuals considering but not yet involved in animal welfare work and volunteerism. We are thrilled to have Dr. Marty Becker, America’s Veterinarian and Founder of Fear FreeSM as our presenter for our morning general session and our luncheon keynote speaker (http://www.drmartybecker.com/about/). The KY Board of Veterinary Examiners has authorized three hours of continuing education credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians who attend Dr. Becker’s presentations. The afternoon will include a general session and workshops by area experts in various animal welfare areas, and an Expo area where local nonprofit organizations can meet with other agency staff and volunteers, and with potential volunteers, to share ideas and offer volunteer - agency matching opportunities.
