Meagan Montmeny, CPDT-KA and Dr. Cherie Buisson, DVM will be hosting a two day seminar on self care in the Veterinary and Behavior fields. The first day will focus on the human-animal bond with Dr. Patrick Flynn, medications in vet med, compassion fatigue, and self care with Dr. Cherie Buisson. During the second day, we'll switch our focus from human care to animals. Dr. Sara Bennett, DACVB will talk about reading body language and understanding why the animal is behaving a certain way along with their emotional state. Jacqueline Munera will focus on operant and respondent conditioning along with kitten kindergarten. Meagan Montmeny will teach low stress handling and restraint techniques for the vet clinic along with training dogs and cats to be active participants in their care and enrichment to reduce stress. We'll be talking about teaching cats to get on the scale or a dog to willingly accept a muzzle. Ginny Price, VTS-B, will be teaching Cat Towel Wrapping techniques. Our goal is to teach Veterinarians that you can train behaviors you need to make vet visits fun for everyone and the quality and accuracy of their exam will improve when they switch to a patient centered approach.
