Description

Kevin Simpson & Rebecca Yoo – Behavior & Adoptions – Animal Welfare League of Arlington In this workshop, we will explore the elements of canine emotional states that we encounter in our daily work. We will review common “problem behaviors” such as jumping, mouthing, and barking with a deeper look at the source of these heightened behaviors. Are they a result of the everyday environmental stressors, the dog’s natural tendencies or a combination somewhere therein? From broader scale enrichment programs to your daily individual interactions, we will discuss some different approaches we can employ to help our dogs. Through our experiences, successes and challenges our goal is participants will gain helpful models and ideas to employ in their own shelter and/or rescue programs
