Description

This seminar will cover important topics that can help senior dogs (and cats too!) lead longer, healthier, and happier lives. Dr. Tilghman will share her vast knowledge of preventive and therapeutic techniques--major topics will include: • The Aging Process: What happens to the body when it ages and how to manage the chronic conditions that affect many older dogs like hip dysplasia, stifle problems, and arthritis. • Nutrition: How the digestive process changes with age and the diet changes, vitamins and minerals helpful to older dogs. • Exercise: Old dogs need to move and play is important. She will discuss appropriate exercise programs for the older dog. • Therapeutics: Dr. Tilghman will share tips from her complementary disciplines and explain how conventional approaches can benefit from acupuncture, Chinese herbs, skeletal balance and other diagnostic tools.
