Submitting a Program or Presentation for Pre-Approval for CEU’s
Information for Presenters and Sponsors

Factors in the CEU decision Application process     Contact the Administrator

Presenters or persons or organizations sponsoring presentations may apply in advance for Continuing Education Units for their programs. Once a presenter or sponsor has received CEU pre-approval, they may include the phrase, “Approved for X hours of CEU credit by the CCPDT” (and some variations) in their promotional material for that program. The CCPDT will also post a notice of the approved program on the website.

The CCPDT reviews applications for CEU credit on an ongoing basis. The CCPDT will notify applicants of the result of their application within three weeks of its receipt.

Approval of CEU credit for one program should not be taken as blanket approval for all programs by the same speaker or presenter.

Factors

Content is the most important factor in the CCPDT’s determination of whether or not a program will be approved for CEU credit. The material covered in the program must relate to the subject matter of one or more of the CPDT Certification Test topics. Click here for a list of topic areas.

In addition, the applicant (whether a sponsor or presenter) must show that the speakers or presenters have a level of education and / or experience that supports their ability to present the material.

Application Process

A completed application for CEU pre-approval must contain all the required information

  • the education / experience of the presenter(s)
  • the length of all parts of the presentation including breaks
  • a statement of how each part of the presentation applies to the CPDT test content

Applications for CEU credit may be submitted in two ways.
